I assume that the Kanye hate is based on his personality rather than the fact that he's pretty much revolutionized the genre and split the history of hip hop into pre-Kanye and post-Kanye worlds?

Mostly down to exposure. There are plenty of artists I probably dislike as much as those that I either can't think of or haven't heard in a million years. That's a testament to the awfulness of Barenaked Ladies because I haven't heard them in a million years either.

Kanye has revolutionized precisely jack shit.

He is a product of an industry that made him what he is with an enormous amount of help and input from a monster list of people with actual credentials and ability.

He is a face.

Like the Wizard of Oz.

Nothing more.
 
Kanye's last good record was a while ago. I can leave it at that since most of you mundane craft beer drinkers wouldn't know a good rap record if it slapped you.

I have very little hate in me :grin:
There are some music genres that I don't care all that much for but that more of upbringing and demographics. I try and appreciate any original music and anyone that is a talented musician regardless of genres.

I cannot however listen to the Cure. There is something about the singers voice that just grates on me. I'm sure they are good musicians...I just cannot :shrug:
