Be honest, who's looking forward to the Harry Potter flick?

Going to see Harry Potter tonight!!!1

Ending up costing not far shy of £30 for me and the ladyfriend to see the 3d version :gah:

Yes, the 3D pricing is obscene but this is a movie best seen in a theater, not at home. My 15 year old saw the standard version before we saw the 3D, and said it was much more effective in 3D.
Of course, he wasn't paying!

Yeah, apparently Batman has hung it up. Bruce is visiting Gordon in the hospital, and Gordon is trying to convince him to make a comeback.

Oh yeah.

Yeah, it's Gordon in the hospital bed, presumably speaking to Bruce Wayne, rather than Batman. Bane is EPIC and the dude who is playing him is the lead from Bronson.

Most psycho character EVAR. He rocked that.

BTW, San Diego is hosting Comic Con this weekend. That really brings all the nerds out of their nerderies.

yep!
I gots all kinds o'buddies down there, hopefully one of them is remembering to shop for me.
there's a new line of Thundercats toys coming out, and I gotta have that SDCC exclusive Lion-O :helper:

I hope to be able to go someday

So I saw it last night.

1st time I'd seen a movie in 3d and I wasn't that impressed. The 3d stuff at the Saudi Aramco oil museum is much cooler and even the shit in the 3d cinema ad before the trailers was more effective. It just seemed to make everything dark and I had to guess when I was supposed to be looking at something in 3d.

Also nowhere near enough bellatrix :'(

But I enjoyed it.

I do stand by my opinion that for a guy who people are so scared to speak his name, Voldemort is one of the shittest on screen bad guys ever. I mean the audience actually started laughing at him at points when he said or did something which just proves my point.

They laughed at the epilogue too. I thought they might leave that out, I'm not quite sure why they bothered since it was just cheesy and contrite (like the book) but hey, I'm not the director.

JBJ fact: I've did the odd bit of supply teaching at the school the Cho Ching girl went to :embarrassed:

hes got a bit of a panto villain going hasnt he, i think thats in part down to how feines(no idea how to spell that) played him he could have been a lot more threatening if he wasn't so flamboyant and shouty. whenever he shouted "avada kedavra" it sort of broke the illusion for me, he sounded like a mong

It's hard to believe he's the same guy that played Eames in INCEPTION, he doesn't look that big and muscular there.

And he will be taking over the Mad Max Role in the upcoming MAD MAX Remake.

I just don't think he looks very threatening or scary and the fact he talks like an 85 year old with emphyzema just seals the deal. They could have done so much more with that character. A lot of the other bad guys were much scarier.
