I had Thomastik 14's on my handmade archtop until they destroyed one of the the tuning machines that can't be sourced anymore.

My first? No way. Back in the late seventies when I was teaching geetar, one could actually lease geetars from stores. I had an Ibanez lawsuit double neck, a Gibson V with a bad headstock repair, and a Tele that I wish i still had today. Then around 1985, I traded a a Yamaha classical, and $200...

I should have been more specific. That's my new rock/blues rig. Although Billy Strings would probably use it. I am dedicated to learning at least one bluegrass tune, one Metheny tune, one straight ahead jazz classic, one classic blues tune, rock tune and a classical tune.

Since the last time we spoke...... and the Kustom cab is being replaced with a Marshall MX 112 in about three days.

With a retired persons time and renewed interest in relearning geetar. First stop : Flatpickin bluegrass.

I took delivery of a blonde 1991 just recently. Actually, the upper bout is smaller than the one we are used to seeing on Gibson's /Guilds/etc so the lower bout does look quite large. Doesn't affect the balance in the least.

The Washburn J6 arrived today. Case was pretty beat up so I was a bit apprehensive about the geetar inside. Popped the case open and found this: Geetar was in excellent condition. Not even a trace of belt rash. The seller included two warranty slips from DiMarzio so I am guessing the PUs...

Not every teenager wanted to a guitarist, ever. Who's trumpeting the impending death of the french horn? Marimbas? Drums? Piano? No one. I bet acoustic sales are getting a bounce due to the popularity of bands like Mumford and Sons, as well as solo acts. Wait 5 years and electrics might well be up.
