    Fender Bassbreaker

I played the small 7 watt (I think? Whatever the 007 one is) at the local music shop the other day. I actually really liked it. It sounds much more like a Marshall than a Fender, which is what I'm assuming they're going for. Honestly it was what Marshall should be putting out at that price...

I've never experienced this with an amp.

If someone is playing your amp and it blows, wouldn't it have blown on you just the same? Either it was worn out or the ohms/watts weren't correct, but it doesn't matter who's playing, right? idn_smilie But I get not letting someone play your guitar, I've seen those get their fair share of...

    NAD: Marshall JTM 60 Head

That makes sense, I've heard quite a few nightmares about the maintenance of these things. It's not replacing my Class 5, so I don't plan on it being my workhorse amp. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the head doesn't have the same problems as the combos. :weebz:

    NAD: Marshall JTM 60 Head

Got this beauty a few days ago used from Guitar Center. I'm surprised at how clean it is. (All other 90's JTM's I see are beat to heck and have missing knobs and such.) I don't understand why these get such sub-par ratings among guitarists for the sound. (Other than the whole overheating...

Awesome, thanks guys. I got busy this weekend, but I plan on taking a stab at it sometime this week. :aok:

    Help! 5F1 Amp Build

Ok, so which side are the negative and positives on the caps supposed to go on? Or does it matter? I can tell on my caps which is which, I just can't tell on this schematic. I can't find anything online to help either since this is a slightly cartoon-ized schematic.

    Help! 5F1 Amp Build

Thanks guys! You're all awesome! Unfortunately they didn't have the TDA7052 at Radioshack, so I had to switch up what I was building. :( I was able to get all the parts for this though. I'm not doing the 5 tone dip switch thing. Any suggestions for laying out this on a perfboard?

    Help! 5F1 Amp Build

Ok, I lowered my standards a bit, lol. I found this video and think this is a good start. My only problem is that I can't really read the schematic and I can't find a list of parts that I can pick up. I was hoping to stop by Radioshack and pick up what I need. Can anybody break down what I...

    Help! 5F1 Amp Build

Thanks guys! Yeah, I kind of had a feeling I wasn't going to get out of this for less that $150, but I'll still poke around. I didn't even think to use the search specific for this forum. thwap0 I'll look around and see what I can find. :thu:

    Help! 5F1 Amp Build

Hello everyone! I'm seeking a little advice. I recently decided I want to take a stab at building my own guitar amp. My goal is to actually get good enough to make tweaks and somewhat design my own, but I need somewhere to start. After looking at some stuff online, I really want to try and...

    Question: Pickup Winding

Does anyone on here wind their own pickups? I was wanting to try it out and wanted to know what all was involved. I know you obviously put the bobbin and magnets together and then wind the wire on with a pickup winder. I was wondering what all I've missed after this other than soldering the...

Fender just released a new snazzy amp

The "Vaporizor" mode looks interesting, lol. I don't think I've ever had an amp I straight up didn't have any control over, lol. Totally_jammin_out

    Pheo Jet Custom

I'll do $300 Bob. Kinda cool idea, but seriously, this thing is not worth a penny over $300.

    Help! Questions on Acoustic Equipment

Ah, ok. Yeah, the Fishman or Bose would be perfect, but they're way out of my price range. :( The Roland looks interesting though. Does it sort the guitar and vocals into the two speakers separately?

    Help! Questions on Acoustic Equipment

Ok, that's good to know that the mic will work w/o phantom power. I totally get what baimun is saying about the vocals being muddy coming out of the same amp. In an ideal senario I would play through a PA, but most the coffee shops and restaurants that I'm looking to play at don't have PA's...
