    200k

It’s just under 200k (3RZFE). I’ve watched a few videos on it and it looks like pulling the cylinder head is almost as difficult as pulling the entire engine. And if you go that far, why not rebuild the whole thing lol.

The 1st gen Taco in the background needs a head gasket. Hopefully I’ll be getting it back on the road soon !

5 sets of tires, 4 windshields, 29 oil changes. All scheduled maintenance by yours truly. Original clutch (95% highway). Bone stock and one recent issue, a code P0171 that I haven’t found yet. No other issues. It’s been a really good car, you just have to realize it’s a cheap, affordable...

Normally, I'm team pickguard on for a Les Paul...however...

I like the “no pickguard” look myself. I took the poker chip off too

Major or minor? Do you have a bias?

Minor is my go-to comfort zone, so it's practically automatic, but I love the major. Always feel like I've made some headway when I can play in a major scale.

    Oh Norma

The Tempo has flat-wound strings on it. I'd never played a guitar with FWs until this one

    Oh Norma

The Norma has a zero fret. I thought that was pretty cool. I'll post pics when I get it all shiny and stuff :)

    Belly Bulge

I've heard/read about tuning it down and using a capo, I may give that a try. I was so naive/ignorant about guitars when I first started playing them. I had no idea that they (mostly acoustics) needed setting up first. I'd buy one, take it home and fret till my fingers bled. Gary, my first...

    Oh Norma

I have a buddy who loves these old MIJ guitars. I asked him if I could “practice” on a couple of them (clean, mild fretwork and setup) so I’ll be starting on this one. After that, it’s a Tempo, with a pretty cool body shape. The pickups are so microphonic you can talk into them!

    Belly Bulge

The only thing I didn’t like about the BDr was/is a hole must be drilled through the bridge and top. Instead of using the little pearl plug, I mixed some glue with the bridge shavings and packed it into the hole.

I’ve had this Alvarez Model 5021 12-string for years, found in a pawn shop for 75 bucks. Alvarez upped their game later with the Yairi etc. but these first runs, made in Japan, weren’t the best. As such, I thought I’d try my hand at fixing it. It was mostly unplayable, action way too high...

Dig it! NAD! 68 Vibro Champ Reverb

Congrats on the "new" amp! Years ago, I built a Vibrochamp from scratch, bought a chassis, and rounded up the parts. I had a guy in Jacksonville make a cabinet that would hold a 12". One thing I've regretted is not putting reverb circuit in it while I was building it. A reverb pedal is okay...

    1968 Barracuda Coupe

One of the many cars I've owned that, in my dreams I'd stored away in a climate-controlled garage instead of selling it for $250 to a guy who blew it up a week later. I had a blue fastback.

Dig it! Guitar Cab Project: FINISHED!

Nice job on the grillcloth, that can be a pain to get it lined up perfectly like you did.
