I'm glad you have such vivid memories of time spent with your old man.View attachment 121628
Perhaps not the most popular cereal but I think they taste great, and was always happy when daddy came down into the basement and I saw the box of Kix in his hand. That was my favorite thing for him to force-feed me. Memories...
I absolutely remember that joke. Many of you will remember the tag line at the end of a classic Trix cereal commercial, “Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids.” But, do you recall an old joke from childhood?
……………..
Once upon a time there was an island inhabited by a people called the Trids.
The island was dominated by a huge mountain. At the top of the mountain lived a giant.
The giant hated Trids. Whenever a Trid tried to climb the mountain, the giant would come charging down and kick the Trid all the way back to the bottom.
The Trids were miserable because the mountain contained fertile land, fresh water, and plenty of room to build homes. But nobody could get past the giant.
One day a traveling rabbi arrived on the island.
The Trids told him of their problem.
“Every time we try to climb the mountain, the giant kicks us off.”
The rabbi said, “Perhaps I can reason with him.”
The next morning the rabbi led a group of Trids up the mountain. Sure enough, the giant appeared.
He ran toward them and kicked every Trid all the way back down the mountain.
But he didn’t touch the rabbi.
The rabbi was puzzled.
The next day he tried again with even more Trids.
Again the giant kicked every Trid off the mountain.
But he left the rabbi alone.
Finally the rabbi climbed all the way to the giant’s cave and asked:
“I’ve watched you for days. You kick every Trid off this mountain, but you’ve never kicked me. Why not?”
The giant looked down at him and replied:
“Silly Rabbi, kicks are for Trids.”
