I miss small rodeos. A few guys I grew up with rode bulls. One shattered his cheek when it collided with the bull's horn. The other got a spiral fracture of his femur when the bull brushed and twisted his leg after he climbed up on the fence and his foot got pinned.

Bull riding seems the most dangerous sport in the rodeo. One of the bull riders had his hand cinched so tight that when he got thrown off the bull, his hand was still stuck. He remained next to the bull for quit a while trying desperately to get his hand out while the bull continued to buck wildly. I don’t think he broke any bones, but he must have had quite the sore hand afterwards.

85 when we live in Cheyenne, Wyoming. My brother came out to visit and we went to the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. Wasn’t into but have to say all the events we attended kicked ass. The Chuck Wagon Races! Trying to remember if it was either 6 or 8 horses hooked to the wagon and they hauled ass. Wagons were power sliding in the turns! Crazy! One of the most impressive events I ever saw.

Saw Johnny Cash then too. Wasn’t into him either but he and his wife put on a wonder concert. It was just, wow.

We don’t have rodeos here but, I highly recommend attending one if ever you get the chance.
