Part of Charvel's Production-Mod Series, the San Dimas Style 1 HH is jam-packed with high-performance specs and mods. The 25-1/2" scale alder body is crafted into the ultra-comfortable San Dimas shape and is mated to a 1-piece quartersawn maple neck. The compound radius (12"-16") fretboard is fleet and sweet for chording on the low end and extreme bending in the upper range of its 22 jumbo frets. The So-Cal is powered by a Seymour Duncan '59 SH1N neck humbucker and a Seymour Duncan JB TB4 bridge humbucker. Just as Eddie established in the '80s, all you need is a volume knob to control this beast. Grover Mini Rotomatics tuners and Floyd Rose FRTO2000 double-locking tremolo maintain rock solid tuning even after the most vigorous whammy-workout. The molded, rectangular SKB hardshell case with TSA-approved latches is ready to handle the rigors of the road (or the air).

Seymour Duncan JB TB4 bridge humbucker
The archetype hot-rodded humbucker for over 30 years. Great for everything from heavy blues to heavy metal. The world's most popular humbucker. Provides slammin' output while retaining singing highs, aggressive harmonics, and just the right blend of sustain and distortion. Goes from sweet warm tones to raw rock 'n' roll.

Seymour Duncan '59 SH-1N neck humbucker

This versatile P.A.F.-type humbucker is great for country, jazz, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock. It produces a late-'50s, vintage-correct, humbucker sound with warm and crystalline clean tones, full and bright distorted tones, and smooth sustain.

I was there. :embarrassed:...I much preferred the Tone Zone in the bridge of the SoCal (the one I bought) to the JB in the San Dimas. That apart, these Japanese Pro-Mod models are absolutely excellent guitars. I can't think of a better guitar of that type for that money..thinking ESP LTD, Jackson, Schecter etc.

The quality of construction and set up out of the box is superb. The neck is great..the Floyd whilst not an actual original is decent and certainly mine holds tune very well.

I might actually buy another one. :embarrassed:

I don't like the blue much without a guard. Give it to me in black or winter camo print and I'd love it.

I played an American version of this and liked it. Not really my speed anymore but it was a good guitar. Great value for the money. Neko girl then got the pick guard version and her guitar sucked though. Not sure why.

this was the other option:

if i could get it with the black pickguard, but chrome hardware, i think i'd go for it.

I'm sorry I said that. The other one looks better. I'd want a white guard and chrome. and then it would be good for me.

I'll stick with non-guard, and in black if they have it.

I'm a Charvel whore.

That one I'm not really digging, though.....would have to play it.

If it really jumped out when I played it, maybe.

Unsold on the color.

Meh. I'm sure it plays brilliantly, but it seems to be designed mostly for things I don't do.

At least the volume knob is not as close as on a Fender Strat... And the color would match my pretty blue eyes...

Meh.....

Not actually that bad, but the Floyd Rose and the JB spoil it for me.
