Just curious.
Looks like the bees knees if you are on the waiting list for a KOT. Demos sound good, looks like its super versatile.
But the dang thing is $400+. I dont really have an interest in it. Based on my only experience the the Blues Breaker circuit with the Protein, Im not really a fan personally. At least to the point of trying other versions of the circuit. But thats a pretty limited experience. Im sure for some people it will be just what they are looking for.

I got on the list for a King Of Tone about 2006. I seem to recall waiting for about 2 years before I got one. I generally like the pedal with most amps. I can usually get, at least, one side to work well with any amp. Often both sides work well. And, both sides together can be magic. But, if a sub $100 Chinese clone had existed back in 2006, I would have started with it.

There are other pedals that I bought Chinese versions first. Two examples were the Joyo US Dream, and Joyo Sweet Baby. I liked those enough that I bought a Suhr Riot and Mad Professor Sweet Honey, shorty after getting the Joyo versions.

The Brothers AM looks cool, especially, with the Beano Boost circuit built within it. But, I have a lot of dirt pedals. I don’t need another version of the KOT. I don’t have a Beano Boost, but I do have a treble booster circuit that I like (Catalinbread Naga Viper).
 
Just came here to post a thread. I ordered one after midnight the day it came out, re-considered and canceled the following morning, and then re-re-considered the next day and ordered again. Now they're sold out of the initial run so I am glad I re-re-considered. I'll have to post a review when it shows up!

I think what I'm most excited about with it (besides the fact that it sounds great in the videos I've watched) is the fact that you can control / save presets on it. I won't do much with MIDI but it's really cool to me that you can do that with an ostensibly analog pedal thanks to the digital control. I guess that's where CB's whole "digital brain, analog heart" slogan comes from.

The Tonal Recall is one of my all time favorite pedals now, and the more I learn about Joel and his story the more I like the guy. Analog Mike seems like a really cool dude too in this video.
 
It looks like a cool piece of kit. Not something I would be willing to spend hours dicking with, but it looks pretty cool.

To me seems like if you really like the circuit you get several pedals in one, 2 ODs, 2 boosts, and the ability to make either side or both higher gain, so it could be your only gain pedal. Plus the ability to recall up to 4 configs and settings before midi even gets involved. Looked at that way it’s really not that expensive if that’s the type of circuit and gain staging you’re after.
 
Conceptually, I think the idea of having analog effects that can be controlled via midi is powerful. Also, those Chase Bliss pedals are relatively small, which makes them easy to fit on a board. However, the small size of the Brothers AM pedal means those 2 buttons are very close together. So, as an analog, 2 button pedal, I would find it challenging to use. Yet, as part of a midi controlled setup, it could be brilliant.

My thoughts were very similar. This plus a good fuzz like my Fallout Cloud or Lunar Module would probably be able to cover most of my dirt sounds. Add one of those little MIDI preset control footswitch thingies (Disaster Area?) and I feel like I could have lots of great configurations. But knowing me I'll probably find one or two that I like and just have those loaded for on-board access without getting MIDI involved.

I put a couple of the Barefoot Button minis on my Tonal Recall and it's not *that* hard to hit the button you want to hit, but I would prefer if they were a tiny bit farther apart.

Honeslty though the only electric guitar playing I'm doing these days is sitting on the floor in my music room so i'm usually turning things on and off with my fingers anyways :embarrassed:
