Anyone own one of these? It looks like they changed the bridge from what used to have the traditional rosewood saddle. I know they have a unique sound and have had my eye on a Danelectro for a while, just wondering if it's worth the price.

I had a longhorn years ago and it was way better than I thought it would be. The price seems a little high to me, but I bought the one I had 15 years ago, so maybe that is what they go for now.

I've been really wanting one so I pulled the trigger. Although Danelectros are known they aren't marketed heavily these days, but supposedly these are all 2015 models making a comeback.

If it is anything like the longhorn I had, I know I would like it. It was super light and had a "natural" tone. Some nylon wrapped or flatwounds on it and it will be cool.

Sounds great, reminds me of what my Longhorn sounded like. Maybe I should sell my Mustang bass and pick one up.

It was 29.75″ and costs $429.

Sadly as much as I loved its unique sound it had to go back. It didn't cost justify after what I started noticing within a weeks time. Crazy fret buzz so I took it in and that lasted a day. Loose output, no big deal right? I tightened it and it happened again. Knobs falling off, loose 3 way switch I mean wtf? I have other Korean built stuff that is solid but not this one.

I'd love to check out an actual 60's model one day cuz these are unique.

Maybe find one of the late 90s early 2000 reissues. My Longhorn was from then and it had no issues.

Good to know, these 63 RI's come up every once in a while that peaked my interest.

Woah. That sucks. One little issue or something, but, wow. Maybe have my brother build one. lol

I told my brother, EG, about your thread. He's not building anything right now. He just finished a telecaster and there is probably a build thread I will see if I can find it. That guitar is super-nice. I don't know if you would be interested or if he would be interested but I figured what the heck I'll tell you guys about each other.
