Question: Dexter. How did I miss this show?

OGG

Master of the Meh
I have been completely wrapped up in the show Dexter for several weeks now. It is making my already insomnia induced sleep deprivation that much worse since Showtime runs three episodes every night starting at 11.

A friend had told me several times I would like it. It really didn't sound like my kind of thing based on their description, but I got sucked in fast. This is close to Breaking Bad in terms of ground breaking content and character development. Damn good stuff. I'm likely getting towards the end, he's about to snuff out Admiral Adama (so say we all), I hope they wrap it up in a decent way. I don't want spoilers, but if you think the finale will piss me off, you can tell me that it will piss me off.

Just get a Roku and put the Showtime app on it and you can watch the entire season when you want. I loved the show, my wife started it when it was on the air, and I started when it hit Netflix. The ending is meh. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either.

Ooh! I have a Roku in the bedroom!!

Binge-a-thon!

I agree that it started slipping after about the 5th season.

I have heard something about a reboot coming soon.

The central conceit got old after the third season. Didn’t think the show had anything else to run on.

great show, really enjoyed it.

I think the season with John Lithgow is the best one.

Everything is better with Lithgow.

I don't have HBO, or any of the premium or online/stream channels, so I've missed out on a lot of popular shows. I think I watch too much TV as it is, so I don't think that's going to change any time soon as long as I can get a good selection of college football.

This.

First couple of seasons were very enjoyable.

The final few were laughably bad. Honestly, 'have drinks with friends on Sunday nights and watch the trainwreck that is Dexter as though it were The Room or Plan 9 From Outer Space' bad.

It's great, but you're going to hate the way they wrap it all up at the end of the series.

This x 1,000,000. I LOVED this show, but it went downhill after S4 (the Lithgow season), and the final season was just awful.

IMO, they could have and should have ended after S4.
