Fashion...is it?

I'm a jeans and t-shirt guy. Always have been, always will be. I loathe even the rare shirt and tie event I might need to attend. Having said all that, what is with men's suits these days?
Sleeves that barely, if at all, hit the wrist.
Pants that are at the ankle with a 3 to 4 inch gap to the shoe?
Does that look good? Am I alone here?
To me, it looks like the whole thing is too small.
It's just weird.
I can appreciate a well fitted ensemble but these look like they borrowed it from a guy 4 inches shorter than them.

uhh, that's been the style now for more than 15 years (and it came from the 60s mod fashion). My criticism with that example is that fashion seems to have gone stale. Just like residential architecture. Name a popular residential architecture style that's come around since so-called modernism or mid-century?

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Not really driven by aesthetics, but design related to function. Good one. My old college buddy just cashed in on his LA home, bought some property up north and had a tiny home built? installed? It looks great.

Doesn't make it less terrible. I didn't realize it had been a thing that long. Probably because I don't dress like that.
I'll be here in my jeans and t-shirt if y'all need me.

I think the big ol' suit jackets with the wide collars and wide ties from the 70s also came back for a while. You gotta dress up sometime.

Honestly when I do it's as minimal as possible. Regular slacks, shirt, and tie. I definitely don't do jackets. Ever.

I have no clue, I have only owned 1 suit in my life (fortunately for me, I can still wear clothes I wore in college, which is when my parents bought me the suit). I wore a button up shirt and tan pants to my sister in law's wedding last year, I told my wife I was done with the suit. People that know me, know I don't do ties or suits, so if that is an issue, don't invite me to your event.

I don't think the suit fashion is the problem here cop0 Skinny suits have been the fashion for ages.

Best stick to your baseball cap and short-sleeved Hawaii shirt cop0

Yes, the suit fashion is the problem.

No matter how small the wearer, and most I see are sickly looking shrimps, the suit makes the wearer look like they have packed ten pounds of shit in a short five pound bag.

No matter the age of the fashion it looks silly and not at all business-like.

This coming from a guy who wears t-shirts, shorts and flipitty-flops mid-winter, but if you are going to wear a suit wear one that looks like you are serious about looking professional, not like a kid who is pretending to be important but put on his younger brother's suit.

hint: Suits are worn casually, not just for business. If you have ever been to the UK you'd know

Never been, do not wish to do so. See no reason to do so. I know of no one who wears suits casually unless they are people who have no fashion sense and like looking like ten pounds of shit in a short five pound bag. But I avoid those people as they are quite boring and self-centered.

I hang with, well, people who wear suits for business and like their suits to be business-like, not short and tight. We wear shorts, t-shirts and flippity flops when on down time.

We oldsters tend to like to relax when, uh...being "casual".

Looking like we are wearing our little brother's confirmation suit is not our idea of relaxing.
