He should make an appropriate offer then.He wants to pay $100 for it. Give him you're lowest take or ignore him.
If he wants it for $100 he can't offer $100 because he expects you to counter in increments down while at the same time he will rise. At the same time he doesn't think you're going even consider his offer but wants to wind up in the middle. He should make an appropriate offer then.

Thank you Pawn Stars for making way too many people think this is how it always should work.

Pretty much this. We've all known that guy, right? I had a friend that used to lowball all kinds of stuff on CL and eBay (not a musician). He mostly got rejected, but occasionally he'd get a great deal on something. So I guess, like hitting on women at the bar, it's a bit of a numbers game....but a game that is played mostly by jerk-ish folks. This is the same guy who hits on every woman at the bar. He only needs to find one who's needy enough to go home with him.
Seems like a solid strategy. This is the same guy who hits on every woman at the bar. He only needs to find one who's needy enough to go home with him.
It kind of ignores the humanity of every other person you come in contact with, which sometimes doesn't end well.Seems like a solid strategy.
People don't want to just get laid anymore? Seems like in the situation you describe everyone would be on the same page.It kind of ignores the humanity of every other person you come in contact with, which sometimes doesn't end well.
Apparently not, if most everybody is saying no.People don't want to just get laid anymore? Seems like in the situation you describe everyone would be on the same page.
It could be they are just saying no the that particular person. Glad I haven't had to deal with any of that stuff for 20 years.Apparently not, if most everybody is saying no.
