Looking for a good surf guitar....

jaxn slim

Your Worst Nightmare
My requirements are:

-tremolo bridge
-single coils/p90s
-fretboard is not as important, but I'm leaning towards rosewood

Whatcha think?

I've got my eye on this reverend, but I'm not sure. I'll have to try one out at NAMM.

DId you get a chance to play the Sixgun I brought to Pragestock? Its a great guitar. Stop by the booth at NAMM and see Ken, he will hook you up.

Dude, you are off the rails :thu:

Yeah. I don't know what's going on. Normally I get GAS when I'm not playing, but I've been playing a lot lately.

I'm pretty sure I did. I liked all the Revs I played, but the specifics are all kind of a blur. :embarrassed:

you already have a Danelectro and a Strat. i know they're not Uma approved, but they'll get you there.

True. If I could come up with a decent way to get a tremolo on that Dano, I'd be set.
The strat will get me there sonically, but I'm thinking of a different aesthetic. I will likely just use it if the stars don't align on something else.

I'd just use the strat. Put a new vintage looking pick guard on it to change up its look. Changing the pickguard on my strat made me fall in love with it all over again. Weird, but true. And the strat is the correct surf guitar.

Personally, if we're talking surf, I would go old school. That's right, I'm talking Fender Jaguar. But...

It has been updated. Check this out:

It's supposed to debut at Winter NAMM. So Mark and you other guys, your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to check it out and report back.
I also love how he is surrounded by Deluxe Reverbs.

If that guitar didn't cost a fortune, it would be mine. I started a thread about it a few days ago. Here is the full 14 minute clip where he discusses almost every detail about it.

Slap some lipstick pickups in a Strat.

For my own stuff, I use old Teiscos and a baritone Dano, but I'm not particularly discriminating when it comes to quality and playability.

Here's my two Teiscos:

(I've pressure washed the patio and fixed the lattice since these pix were taken. :embarrassed:)
