So I had the Fender version of the Strat-o-sonic back in the day. Two of them, in fact. One had dual p90s and the second was the single p90 --which I loved but had to sell to solve cash flow issues.
I picked up the paranormal version yesterday and can't seem to put it down. It checks all of the boxes from the original version (these p90s seem glassier than the original Dove versions)
The construction is super ... I found little to quibble with. The neck is a whisper bigger in the hand than most of the Squier CVs. The frets are well dressed, no fret sprout. And it came out of the box perfectly intonated with worm-raper low action. It's lively unplugged and growls plugged in.
If that was not enough for $429, it has push-pull post for in/out phase and serial/parallel.
Me Likey!
