NGD - somewhat irritated content...

Been waiting for this one for several days since UPS rescheduled the delivery from Friday to today. It arrived today, and I was initially quite happy - it's a 2010 PRS Mira in Wild Mint, much like the Mira I used to have which had visited Pragestock 1 with me. Great freaking guitar. THis one was described as Very Good condition, with "a few scrapes but all healthy wear and tear". There were some reasonably detailed pictures and it looked good, several dings but nothing appeared to be through to the wood. Well, he was apparently very careful to keep the big, to the wood dings out of the pics. For example, the headstock top point, and right above the B string tuner - he put a close up of the headstock in the ad, but cut it off at the top so you couldn't see that one, and took it at an angle where the tuner was blocking the ding. There are 3 dings on the back of the neck - the 2 minor ones were in the ad, but the one through the wood was not pictured. Same with the 2 dings on the edge of the body. If these had been disclosed, I probably would have bought the other Mira I was looking at for the same price, in Vintage Cherry...but I have this one, and it sounds good. Setup is horrible, high action and tons of neck relief, so fixing that is the next step...but trying to decide if it's irritating enough to contact Reverb...

Anyway, here's some pics, including the ones I took of the larger unpictured dings from the ad - would love your thoughts on whether I'm being too picky or not...there's also a link to the original ad so you can see his pics of you so desire.

Hmm...it is interesting that this Reverb photo, at least, conveniently crops out that headstock chip.

...and the chip on the back of the neck isn't shown at all. I can understand your irritation.

Those definitely should have been included in the original pictures and that info should have been in the copy. It probably would not bother me at all provided it was revealed up front - which that was not. Overall the guitar is in great shape, but that omission would piss me off just a little.

So - IMHO you are not being too picky.

I'd want potential buyers to see each flaw so they would know exactly what they're getting.
Integrity is a rare commodity, apparently.

OK, got the setup sorted out and now it plays like a PRS should. Sounds pretty fantastic as well, and only weighs 6.6 pounds. Don't find myself noticing the neck dings when I play. So, am definitely planning to keep it, because the sound is just so good.

That said, I'm debating how much of a partial refund to look for since I still think it fits "not as described". I did get it at a good price - $848. $48 of the was KY sales tax, since Reverb collects that for all states now. So, he got $800 before Reverb fees and shipping. I could also just leave him lower feedback. $50? $75? $100? Thoughts appreciated, I am at least much calmer now that I know that it wasn't setup with high action to avoid bad fret buzz or something else....

What a shame. It's still a gorgeous guitar and the chips could be repaired, albeit not cheaply, but easily enough done.
I think I'd send the seller a link to this thread.

If I were looking at it used in a store, the only one that would be a deal-breaker is the one on the neck. But, posted online, all should have been disclosed.

I agree that the seller should have been more upfront about the flaws and not disclosing that neck ding while depicting one that appears less sever seems like it could be intentionally deceptive...but who knows

in hindsight, that headstock pic with all the little dings and chips that actually are visible would have been a tip off to me to ask for more pics. But if at the end of the day the price is still right for it, it’s not that big a thing.

Yeah - the seller was borderline dishonest, but I'm glad you like the guitar! My S2 has quickly become my favorite player.

He said mint colored not mint condition!

The seller was being purposefully deceptive in his ad. That needs to be in his feedback. If he compensates you for it then that also belongs in his feedback.

It's funny, it was the headstock pic that made me think he was being honest and showing all the dings.

The headstock ding scares me. Was it dropped and there is a crack somewhere you now can't see that may reveal itself in the future when it's too late?
Not to bring paranoia to the party but that one is especially bad AND he hid it intentionally.
