SO after playing with it a bit I've discovered that the neck and middle pickups aren't too bad but the bridge is horrible and thin. Might just replace that one with something a little fatter (I;m thinking that BG makes a single coil p90) and call it a day.

That would be a lot cheaper than all new Suhr pups....

I found a pic of my old seafoam green Benford. Another guitar I never should have sold....

Thats a nice one!

I'm going to think about this a bit. I need to work on the setup a bit, too. If I can make it play a little better I might get a new bridge pickup.

That Benford looks awesome! Never have seen or played one? How much do those run?

Kinda reminds me of a Grosch, and I LOVE Grosch's

Since I have dibbs on that one in your will. (See Facebook post from unknown date in the past)

I think the BG pup will go just super Dad.

:)

ok, so you rebuilt the black strat as a back up when you already had that? Why didn't you just throw pickups into that? You could have used the money you spent on the neck and tuners to get your Jazzmaster started.

No-one will no the difference. I really like P90's, to me they maintain every I like about single coils, but with a little more punch.

I don't know. If I really did a full replacement it would be with Suhr pickups. I also don't feel like waiting two months, either.

It's not routed for humbuckers and I've never gotten it to play well enough.

Before I sold my strat, I was going to make that mod. Then I realized I just can't make a strat work for me. I have this one that covers the strat/tele thing very well.

I just put Dimarzio Area Hot T in the bridge and Area 61's in the neck and middle. The guitar just kills now.

You are a maple fundamentalist.

Just sayin'. I think most Fenders look better with maple boards, especially Candy and the old car colours. One colour that does work well with rosewood is natural or shell pink. Natural finishes with maple boards just look kinda bland to me. SHell pink is hot either way, but a rosewood board (with clay dots!) just looks really hot.

Mary Kay white too.
