Ritchie Blackmore "banned " from the HOF

I'm surprised that the RRHOF president allowed the band's manager to call the shots. It seems to me that if the high point for the band was early on, those members should all be in. If the high point came after a line up change, then those members should be in. If they're not making that distinction, it's all for one and one for all. And tell the band manager to stick it in his ear,

more proof the RRHOF is total bullshit.

+1. We need more people like Madonna who have the guts to use the induction ceremony to mock the RRHOF. How great would it have been if Metallica had used their time to play Motörhead covers, or if every rock band that gets in just played extended versions of Rumble?

i would be VERY disappointed if Steve Morse took part after Richie was 'black balled'.

Morse and Airey weren't invited either, along with founding bassist Nick Simper.

This is absolute bullshit. Deep Purple for all intents and purposes is Ritchie Blackmore and any ceremony that excludes him is fucking invalid.

who the hell is left? Lord is dead. so it's the drummer and singer?

well, to be fair....DP was Ritchie and John.....all that back and forth interplay between the guitar and hammond. Lazy is THE perfect example of that.

I suspect that there's more to the story than one man's account. RB can be a dramatic ass.

Richie has mellowed out considerably in the past 10 - 15 years.

The RRHOF is a complete joke as it is so allowing this should not come as a surprise at all.

yep. if they DID allow him to be there......he might show up with an ACOUSTIC guitar
(i have one of the Blackmore's Night dvds)

Blackmore was Deep Purple's guitarist, on and off, for 17 years ('68-'75 & '84-'93). Steve Morse has been Deep Purple's guitarist for the last 22 years.

Granted, the Blackmore era had all the classic Deep Purple songs.
