Safelite repair, Safelite replace.

Bummer. My tip to you is, if you can drive your vehicle to them, it's about half the cost of them coming to you. That was my experience anyway.

I've never used safelite but I have used more than one auto glass shop. There are independent shops that will do on-site work too. I always prefer dealing with a local small business than a franchise, in most cases.

If you have a fancy new car with cameras that shoot through the windshield, you have to take your car to them because they can't recalibrate the cameras remotely. They did a great job on my car. I thought they'd use aftermarket windshields, but mine was OEM.

My windshield is chipped again, but I think I can pass inspection. Even if I can't, it's a no-deductible repair.

I’ve had good luck with Safelite. They use OEM glass. They do good work.

I used to have them come out to my location. But, they can do it sooner when I bring it to them. So, I now go to their location. I usually bring a bicycle and ride around the area until they text me that they’re finished.

I have not had great luck with small, local businesses including oil change, car repair, glass replacement, eyeglass, veterinarian, restaurants, etc. I have to drive a ways for competent results. There are a few exceptions.

When I needed a new windshield, Safelite was easily the most expensive replacement. I shopped around and went elsewhere.

I’ve used local places and safelite. No issues with the work either way. Ins will set up safelite or similar chain to come to the house no bill, so it’s easier than paying a local place and taking receipt to ins co for reimbursement.
