I was not that fortunate. It was more like this…..

I grew up in the mountains. We didn't have lawns. We did have to rake dead pine needles and have burn days. There was also a lot of splitting/stacking/hauling of firewood.
(Plus, I had to walk 5 miles in the snow to and from school, uphill both ways.)

We moved to LHC Arizona when I was in Jr High. No mowing of the gravel.

I didn’t have to mow again until I graduated from NAU and moved to Colorado. I still don’t have a riding mower. I have two belt drive, electric start, walk behind, Toro mowers with Briggs and Straton engines. Only one of them is running at the moment. I need to repair the backup Toro.

Same here. Although when I was in middle school, I used to cut yards in the neighborhood with one of these. Nothing like getting saturated with 2-stroke exhaust in the hot summer sun. It kept money in my pocket though.

LOL. Dad was given one of these, after a lawn care guy used it for years and years. I thought was the coolest sounding mower ever. It's what we used to trim around the house, bushes, etc. It was really wobbly when being pushed because the miles were big.

I didn't have to mow a lawn regularly until later in life. Then I picked up a Murray, self propelled mower at Sears. I think it was made by the same folks that built the Murray bikes. Huffy had nothing on them, and vise versa.

*I switched to landscape rocks and ditched the lawn.
