Workout jams

2manband

Kick Henry Jackassowski
What are some good bands to check out for when you need to get angry at inanimate objects for the purpose of fitness?

Ideally something in the ass-kicking rock bangers category but also stuff that I might not have heard a million times in the era when it was popular.

My favorite workout music tends to be the Nuggets collections of old mid-60s garage-band punk. That acne-ridden teenage angst at 4/4 time really makes me attack the odometer or weight bench.

Pantera, In Flames, Megadeth, Strapping Young Lad when I am doing high intensity.

Ozric Tentacles and Lucid Planet are great to zone out for the slow long grind.

Haha, Yngwie Malmsteen's Marching Out, Trilogy, or Odyssey works great for me. :dude::jam::dude:Lately, it's been playlists of whatever I'm working on for the next rehearsal or gig.

Pantera is the greatest workout music ever composed. When I’m lifting I’m usually listening to their album Official Live 101 Proof. After that comes Lamb of God, Ashes of the Wake is a great warmup album. Lately I’ve also been mixing in Scour’s new album Gold. Scour are Phil Anselmo’s black metal band and they are incredible.

For cardio I usually listen to EDM. Armin van Buuren records most of his sets and posts them to YouTube and that shit gets me going.

During my garage workouts, I throw on Black Sabbath Born Again often.

Here's Ian Gillan explaining why it's such a great record to work out to. There's a dwarf tale too.
