Acoustica Mixcraft

I just watched the overview video on their site.

The Pro version for $150 seems like the I-can-do-anything-with-this solution.
I like that it can import stuff like loop libraries from other programs like GarageBand, Acid, etc.
It gets all that stuff into one place. It kinda takes away the excuse of "I bought all of this other software stuff and I don't want to leave it behind. So, I'm hesitant to buy in to a new application".

I'm not sure I caught all of the details of the integration with things like reason, but if it can take the output from a project in other programs and include it as a track in the mix, and do it directly without having to convert output files, that's pretty freakin cool.

And you're right it looks pretty easy.
I might give it a go.

I got version 5 a couple of years back for cheap. IMO, not only is it the best bang-for-buck DAW, but it is one of the easiest to use. I don't record much at all, and most DAWs like Ableton, Cubase, etc. just drive me nuts. Mixcraft was easy right out of the gate. It also comes with tonnes () of loops, instruments, effects, etc.

I have Mixcraft 6 and have pretty much ditched my other DAWs. It works great. I was a Sonar user for a long time but the upgrade costs were getting kind of rediculous so I gave Mixcraft a shot. I can do everything I used to do in Sonar. I highly recommend it. I use it to do demos to send to other band members. We don't do our final recoedings or mixing with Mixcraft but I'm able to do quality recordings quickly and easily during the demo process.

Is it compatible with other software like EZDrummer or SuperiorDrummer?

Yes. I have the EZDrummer Demo and it works just fine in Mixcraft. Plug-ins work fine. It even comes with a bunch of plug-ins with it like Full Shread amp sim and some soft synths. I spent a day looking for cool plug-ins and loaded up with synths, drum machines and effects.

Well, I always liked Aid Pro because of its ease of use but if this is easier than that, I might give it a whirl.

Since Sony is abandoning Acid Pro, this looks like my new bedroom DAW.
