Wife bought be a Yamaha THR5 mini amp. Amp models, USB, built in simple fx, tuner, and battery power/AC operation.
First impressions...this thing is tiny. Weighs about 5 pounds. Probably about the size of a lunch box. It sounds absolutely fantastic. It has two tiny 'full range' type speakers. The models do what they should, and they sound really, really amazing. FXs are a little heavy for my taste, but the chorus, reverb, delay and phaser have some nice lower setting sounds. The clean and the british high gain are probably my favorite models. I was a little worried that a single tone knob wouldn't be enough EQ, but the knob seems to produce musical sounds all across the sweep. My Les Paul and strat both sound good at pretty neutral tone settings. Probably the best part is the stupid simple user interface. You just turn knobs and one switch to change models. It takes longer to plug it in than it does to get a tone that is fun and makes you want to play.
This little thing is going to be a heck of a lot of fun.
Here is a picture of the amp. Not MY amp, but one from a web search that shows the size next to an iphone and a tele.
