this evening i jammed on bass. considering i've been gassing for a fretless 5 string all day, i figured it would be a good thing. it wasn't. now i just want the damn thing even more.

(but it was a good jam.)
i started on exercise 2 today in the Czerny book. this one is much harder. what screws me up is that like in ex 1, both the left and right hands are in treble clef. back when i was 6 years old, i already knew how to read bass clef, so its messing me up. but i'll deal. the hard part is the way the exercise is constructed. it wants to you to use multiple fingers on the same key so that you can get used to moving between positions. a very advanced concept compared to Schaum. but i think with a little dedication i can get it.
i only played piano for about 15 minutes. then i got frustrated. but just like i tell my students, 15 minutes three or four times a week will get you there.
now, back to the bass.
