Hendrix TOANZ!

One of my favorite Hendrix performances. I've never heard the guitars solo'd up like this before though.

In fairness, bleed in a great room with talented performers is one thing. If the room doesn't sound great and the band can't gel, bleed can be incredibly disruptive. But personally, I'm coming around to the idea that everything in isolation is a bit unnecessary.

Things sound way too sterile and perfect nowadays. I enjoy the recording back then a lot more than the stuff recorded now.

Love it! Thanks for posting!
So many little things that are in there, but you don't hear them through the full mix of instruments. Like when he switches pickups at 1:25. I don't know why, I just get a kick out of that stuff.

A Tele, a Marshall, a mic and a reel-to-reel.

You can really hear the massive hammer/vibrato FingerToanz that Hendrix was working with. I would love to hear something off of Axis with this treatment.

However great his tone is in this track, and his playing, what really shines is his creativity and his ability to craft a dramatic solo. When it's isolated, you really hear the funk influence and timing that made him so great.
