Johnny Hiland is aesthetically challenged, plus-sized, and that makes liking him wrong!

Dude has sausages for fingers. I have no idea how he plays as well as he does. He is also legally blind.

But he can fucking play.

 
When it comes to playing, I wish I was as "challenged" as Johnny. Dude is a monster (no pun intended). Think I'd go with finger picks over the claw-like fingernails though. :shrug:
 
Both times I went to Summer NAMM I got to see Johnny play. The first time was a club. The second time I saw him play at NAMM and got to talk to him. Super nice guy and yep, a helluva player. I grew up a rocker, but as the years have gone one, like most players have explored almost all styles and have delved into learning some chick'n pick'n and such. I would love to set down with Hiland for about an hour and get him to show me some of his licks at half speed.

Scratches head and wonders why you waited over a decade to conclude to this. His first solo artist album released in 2004.
