As someone out of the game...

12Pack

Dyslexic b00n
So, since the divorce I've really focused my efforts on my kids, my job and making sure me and my surroundings were stable, blah blah blah.

I've been on a few dates and had good ones, bad ones and interesting ones.

Tonight, was the last night that a waitress who works the same place as my middle son is working. She's 23, pretty and a good personality. She also has a boyfriend

She knows me from going to this place many times, has waited on me and my other kids before and has always been personable and fun to joke with.

She starts a new 9-5 job on Monday and didn't hesitate to tell me.

I'm there tonight with my oldest son (21) and we are both having a good time with her, teasing, laughing and being goofy, as we've done in the past with her and other waitresses at this place.

Bill comes and she mentions we should hang out sometime. Leaves me her number.

I'm 47 as of Wednesday next week and have absolutely no idea what to do with this. I'll probably just disregard it as I have absolutely no game and wouldn't want false expectations. Or trouble, or to go all night afraid to sneeze for fear of shitting my pants.

But it kind of made me feel good.

Yet it made me feel bad that she offered to me and not my 21 year old son.

Ughhh

".......she also has a boyfriend"

so what the exact fuck is she pulling?
if she 'has a boyfriend'......then maybe see her AFTER she doesn't have a boyfriend anymore.

OR.......get ready to be involved in a street/bar fight.
OR...better have an envelope full or cash in your pocket for her "time"...

I went to see my drum teacher play a gig at a bar, and while I was standing watching her, a young woman (30 something) came and stood next to me. I didn't think much about it, because I was old enough to be her youngish father (I was about mid-50's at the time). In between songs, we chatted, and since I had a drink, I offered to get her one. Still, I wasn't thinking about anything other that being nice. The next drum lesson, my teacher gave me a hard time about hitting on the woman. I told her I was just being nice, because I was old enough to be her father. My drum teacher said that I misunderstood the bar scene. She said that women her age were disappointed in the men their own age, and they were looking for someone my age, because men my age were more stable.

12Pack, it could be that the server is looking for a more stable man in her life.

I wouldn't trade my wife for anything in the world but I do look back embarrassingly at times I was to shy or lacking in self confidence to realize women that WERE into me at the time. Thank god my wife pretty much had the subtlety of a 2x4 t0 get us to start dating.

Go have fun. Call her.

I'd say go for it. A friend of mine at work, her dad was 40 years older than her mom

The true test is using the "Up The Academy" method. Oh, I see some of you might not have heard of or may have forgotten this technique.

1. Have a couple moments to get the conversation going.
2. Say "Tickle your ass with a feather?"
3. If she recoils in disgust asking you what you had just said, calmly say "I said, it's particularly nasty weather."
4. If she doesn't recoil in disgust, hit it and get it.
