Am I the only person who thought Ferris Bueller was an insufferable tool?

I dug it as a kid, but it is now one of least favorite of the John Hughes oeuvre because the shitty entitled adolescent white guy bullshit that runs through all of Hughes work is hardest to tune out there. I mean, Ferris is the villain and his poor sister is right for being royally pissed and Cameron just gets totally jacked around. I was a teenaged Ferris—an instigating Eddie Haskell motherfucker who talked people into wacky scams and more often than not skated away without consequences. It’s no way to go through life.

All the Hughes films are #problematic, but the ones with Molly Ringwald are still worth a watch for some solid teenage feels and engaging performances.

Great film. Great character and Matthew B pulled it off perfectly. Entire classes of people shouldn't be banned from being the subject matter of films. And it's proven that no matter what background a film viewer is from, they enjoy seeing characters in nice big homes that they may not have the ability to ever own.

The thing that baffles me now with films is that no one seems to be bothered by the age of people playing the parents of teens nowadays. The actors are in their sixties in real life and have teenage kids film.

BTW - the new Charlie Kauffman movie comes out this week on Netflix.

yeah I can't wait for the Kauffman film. It has a 50% chance of being really amazing, and a 50% change of being unwatchable, but never tell me the odds.

Fucking hell, I literally about 3 hours ago found out Frankie Goes To Hollywood covered Born To Run and now you hit me with this? *sidenote* I seen Dexy's at a festival I played at years ago and they're by far the worst famous band I've ever seen live. Terrible.



But I digress, I've seen Ferris Bueller once and I didn't like it - it was just a shitty film with a rubbish plot and yes, he was a prat.
