The tv series ended abruptly in the middle of unresolved storylines (time period 1877). The Deadwood movie was set 12 years after that time period (1889). It resolved some of the unfinished storylines from the tv series.

Five episodes in now and I absolutely love it. I'm taking it slow because I want to let each episode marinate some before I jump right into the next one.
 
I enjoyed it. Funnier than I expected.

I was a bit confused by the mushrooms episode. It was really funny and progressed the plot but I kept expecting a follow up to show what the other characters were doing during his blackouts. They left it to our imaginations I guess but they could have mined that for some laughs. Interesting choice.

I've enjoyed the first couple of episodes of Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness. Larry David and (very famous) friends sketch show on the history of the USA. It's got mixed reviews but if you're a fan of Larry its exactly what you'd expect and is pretty, pretty good.

Also has the final appearance of Rob Reiner, which is touching.

Finished the first season of Star City. What a load of shite! The first half a dozen episodes where OK but more about how depressing it was to live in the Soviet Union rather than, you know, space exploration. But then in the last two episodes they finally went to space and it was a complete shit show. Lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy incompetent, nonsensical, amateurish writing. Complete nonsense plot. They literally pointed out their own plot hole from one scene to the next.

I will not be watching season 2.
 
It's an oldie but we're really enjoying My Name Is Earl on Disney. Both of us were in hysterics last night during a Randy episode.

I love that series! Greg Garcia did another great show called Raising Hope. It is just as funny as Earl. He also did a series called Sprung which is funny, but not up to Earl and Hope standards.

I used to catch random episodes of Raising Hope when I was younger and liked it.

My wife came across it and binged the lot when I was out gigging. Told me it was great and I'd have really enjoyed it :annoyed: I'm not sure I've the time or motivation to watch it on my own.
