Crafted to the highest standards of excellence, the Tokai Premium series guitars are among the finest instruments produced in the world today. Manufactured by a small team of skilled luthiers in Tokai’s Hamamatsu facility, no detail is over looked in the creation of these high-end, incredibly limited master-pieces – providing guitarists with instruments that are as much works of art, as they are precision tools.

Tokai’s FA268 is an uncompromising tribute to one of the most influential jazz guitar models of all time. Constructed using traditional techniques and only the finest materials available, the FA268 features a Canadian maple arched top, back and sides, mahogany set-neck, Indian rosewood fingerboard, Gotoh Kluson style tuners, brass saddles, CTS and Switchcraft electronics with Orange Drop capacitors, PAF-Vintage MK2 pickups and exquisite nitrocellulose lacquer finish; making the FA268 a true heirloom instrument.

It’s nice, but…

If I was looking for an archtop, I’d be looking for one with no fingerboard inlays. And certainly no humbuckers.

It’s pricey for an ES-175 knockoff, although I’m sure the quality is very good w/ it being a Tokai. I’d rather have a used Gibson for not much more $$ in sunburst a la’ Steve Howe, Gibson should put the 175’s back in production, very cool and iconic guitars.

Yes! Not a big fan fan of natural finish guitars but if someone gifted it to me I would gladly accept it.

P.S.- What’s up with the folks saying “I have no use for it”? How can guitar players have no use for it? Run that thing into a “dirty clean” amp with a touch of slap back delay and a smidge of amp verb and it would be endless fun!

yea....i'm not getting that either.
and while i'm no fan of the nuge anymore, he did have a few good tunes in the 70's and using one kinda similar to the OP

I do have a use for it, and it is exactly what you described (plus loads of tremolo). I'd have a hell of a lot of fun doing big, swampy, hollow twang on it.
