The headstock just shows a few minuscule spots of wear around the edges

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting that it's not worth the $4k, only that it isn't worth it to me. It's about as clean as you'll find for a '66 anything, just not the vintage guitar I'd look for.

A '66 Epi is likely to be as good as any other USA made 60's guitar... they weren't always an import brand.
