I play a big boy bass. A 3/4 Bass, re a doghouse, an upright bass.
Its my primary gigging and money making instrument.
I also own a Guild Starfire Short Scale.
I've also owned Precisions, Jazzes, and a Ric, along with several acoustic electric basses in my day.
And I can tell you that no electric bass will bring you more of the low down thump of an upright than a short scale bass with flat wound strings.
Plus being short scale, you can solo all day to hearts content with ease.
Make fun all you want but I guarantee you that "little boy bass" will get the job done.
