24 years. Let's argue about whether grunge was good or bad again.

FWIW, before I STFU and slither away, my take on the rock of the early 90's made by furry young Northwesterners was that it was nothing more than an updating of the blues.

Cue:

This one made me feel better, or at least get fired up for, bad public defender hearings I used to have. Played up loud on the way to court.

I've never heard that. I guess we now know where Kurt got the idea to play that on Unplugged.

Or where Mark got the idea to put it on his album. That's Kurt on the recording.

I should completely contradict myself and do a Rhino-Box "History of Grunge" post with YouTube videos. Egg me on!

Yeah. I think Kurdt and Mark had some tentative half-baked idea to do a Leadbelly covers thing together. There’s a version of “Ain’t it a Shame” on one of the Nirvana rarities cash ins that involves both of em.

This was my favorite "grunge" album back when I lived through it, and prolly still is today....

Totally off topic but gol' damn was D'Arcy ever a cutie back then. Really sad what happened to her. I mean she was a godess back then

Everybody says that "Grunge" wasn't a thing, but they can instantly rattle off half a dozen bands that were in that scene when somebody mentions it. It's a lot easier than saying "90's alt-rock bands from the PNW". I loved most of it when it was happening. I was very much the right age and in the right frame of mind for it. The Mad Season record probably remains my favorite of the bunch, and is FAR superior to Temple of the Dog, IMO.

Yeah, I saw Kurt played guitar and sung back up on Mark's but Mark's came out in 90, Kurt tape unplugged in '93, but yeah, he could have suggested it to Mark.
