5 albums you'd take on a desert island

Wouldn't you people honestly get sick of those five albums? I'd rather not have any music. I can't stand the fifteen or so CDs in my car after repeated listens. I'd rather talk to the soccer ball.

So the basic premise is that I'd have to choose 5 albums that would always be inspiring, challenging, & entertaining?

1)I never only have 5 albums on me, & if I did, it would be by pure chance as to what I were listening to that day, so it may as well be anything.
2) I'd get extremely BORED w/it, no matter what 5 albums it was.
3) If they were cds, I'd rather use them to light fires, or signal airplanes.

I'd rather try to remember every detail of all the albums I've ever heard. The pursuit wouldn't be boring- I'd always be challenged to remember every detail, searching deep within to find the memories, shutting out the exterior world of endless coconuts & sand & ocean. I'd inevitably start dreaming of albums I've heard, drawing upon unconcious memory, fueled by the obsession of remembering when I have absolutely nothing better to do. I'd probably start making up my own albums. Eg- "What if____ had lived longer".

But anyways:

today, maybe some Messiaen , Scriabin late piano pieces played by Sofronitsky. Just bullshit off the top of my head. I can not choose. I'd rather have no albums at all than ones I'd get bored of, which in turn would make me realize all that I'd never see, or hear ever again.:(

Seriously, you guys make no sense. It's not like the OP stipulates that those 5 records will be played on a constant loop, or even once per year. Or ever.

The "none" option is simply dumb. And it seems like it only ever applies to music. It's not like anyone ever says "What kind of Real Doll would I like to have on my desert island? If I can only have one, then I don't want any at all!".

Play the damn game!

Pet sounds- the beach boys
Revolver- the Beatles
Forever changes- love
Blonde on blonde- Dylan
Tommy- the who

REM - Life's Rich Pageant
TSOL - Change Today?
Pink Floyd - Meddle
Sugar - Copper Blue
Weezer - The Blue Album

Hence my unique selection of choices.

Being stuck with those five records would inspire and motivate me every day to find a way off that damned island and get home to my music collection.

Your list would motivate me to find some small sticks to cram into my ears and make me loose my sense of hearing

Counting Crows - August and Everything After and Recovering the Satellites
Lenny Breau - The Velvet Touch of Lenny Breau
Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes
some collection of soul music with Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding.

Nobody said anything about a loop either. I eventually get sick of everything no matter how much I might enjoy it the first time. I'll listen to the wind and my soul, thank you very much.

Rubisa Patrol - Rubisa Patrol (Art Lande, Mark Isham...)
The Melody at Night, with You - Keith Jarrett
Sticky Fingers - the Stones
Blood on the Tracks - Dylan
to be determined...

Hot Rocks- Rolling Stones
Blue- Joni Mitchell
Mariachi El Bronx
Bluegrass Sessions- Bela Fleck
Social Distortion- Live at The Roxy

This might be my top grouping.
