Really though, I like the idea of the funky switching and the trem. I don't know how long that attraction would last if I actually played one. But I'd like to try anyway!

That's killer. Put the trem back on and that original sunburst and I'd buy one. Hell I might just buy one, keep the trem and pickups and cut my own pickguard. Wire it up with master volume and tone and a three way toggle.
