Help! All around axe (guitar)

I can't own multiple electrics. I have 4 acoustics and 1 electric currently but the electric is technically my nephew's that he has the right to buy back at any time (long story). He mentioned over Thanksgiving that he has been wanting it so I am in the market for as close to a do it all as I can find. I play rock, blues, jazz mostly. I like metal and Sleep type stuff too. I know it's a big ask.
LP? That's what I'm thinking.
Suggestions?

Eart 335 style Hollowbody.

I’m probably going to get one of these. They’re only $399 and have perfectly dressed stainless frets. That’s a TON of guitar for the money!!!

What about a Hofner Verythin CT? I had one and sold it back in the day and still regret it.

I have a Sire hss strat.
It does cover a lot of ground.

I'd personally go for a 335 type.

I really feel like a tele isn't going to cover as much ground. I have the modern player whatever with the Tele neck, strat middle and hamburger bridge and it does not do jazz very well. That's the guitar I'm replacing. A lot of people online (youtube) are voting LP but I like the SSH Strat idea too.
Edit: autocorrect said hamburger. LMAO!

LOL
It's hard to beat a strat with a "hamburger" p-up somewhere in the mix, but it's not like you couldn't play anything you wanted on a Paul, either.

I'm leaning this direction but will explore SSH Strats. I've not historically gotten along with a Strat but I'm open to options.

I've got one of those too and it's a fine guitar. I play the hofner more though. JM, however, is my number one electric most days.

Came here to say HSS strat. Used to be the go to guitar for studio session guys for good reason. A good splittable bucker just adds to the usefulness.

The 335 type is also a good choice, especially if you never need a trem and lean a bit more towards jazz.
