Alternative to Photobucket??

Anyone have a good one that is still free? Where you can upload pics and link them easily into places such as this? Because Photobucket, which I have used for years, seems to suck these days. The popups and ads are over the top at this point.

Gratuitous photobucket photo link of a new bike restoration project I have going:

for this forum just use the "upload Link" button, no need for external host site

I will check those out. Also, I have a Flickr account I forgot about. No photos in it. Anyone use it? I would suppose they all have some advertising or something going on. Not seeing why they would just host all my stuff for free.

I've been a Flickr user for years, but Flickr has caught some flack lately about being antiquated. There's been little in the way of development over the past few years and now that Verizon owns it no one's sure whether it has a future. That's the watercooler speculation.

I guess it really just depends on how you'd like to use it. Are you just needing storage or are you wanting to share some of your photos with the outside world?

My experience is that Flickr still does its thing very, very well, and as a hack amateur photographer I prefer it over almost everything else. They don't compress your images and you get a shit-ton of storage for free. Yes, ads are occasionally part of the deal. Here's a recent photo album of mine so you can click through and see how frequently the ads appear. To my way of thinking it's not really that obnoxious:

Google Photos is another good option. If you've got a Gmail acount then boom, you have a Google Photos account. Here's how the same album is treated in Google Photos:

Just don't let all the scripts run on Photobucket. There's a million and one things that run when you use photobucket.

Probably depends on if you want free and how much storage space you are looking for. Google has free photo storage for photos and vids with lots of features. You just need to have a google account. Canon has a storage site also called Irista that is free for up to 15 GB. 100Gb is $2.25/month. And others have mentioned different sites.
You can remove the ads from Photobucket if you pay a small monthly fee to them ($1.49).
Oh, I believe Image Shack is still available as well for about 10GB of free storage.

LOL! Because I am lazy, and used to photobucket, I have just continued as normal. Now today, on my iphone 6, I am getting a pop up scareware thing, with a defcon 2 sounding alert sound. Going to remove the photobucket app and just start using flickr I guess. Bastages!
