Anyone commuting on a bicycle regularly?

I would like to ride my bike to work. Or even a skateboard. It's a mile from home. Neither will be battery assisted. I still take junior to school though.

If I did the food shopping I would be tempted to get a cargo e-bike. But I don't and the wife wouldn't consider it. I'll just stick with my regular bikes and complain about people with the cheater bikes

Hydraulic disc brakes truly are the way to go. They are so nice.
They have hydraulic disc brake sets for ebikes on Amazon priced between $42 to $168. Lots of choices. I think I can handle the install with good instructions. I’m going to search YT for a “How To” video.

This is a better option IMO. You keep your existing brake lever, cables, discs and simply upgrade the calipers. This is slick.

Non-hydraulic? Nevermind. I watched the video. That is slick!

Time to show off my 10 year old kid. He's getting really good at riding wheelies. He has a mongoose bmx and this Trek. The Trek has mechanical disc brakes. We plan on getting him a mountain bike this summer.
He uses the rear brake to keep from looping it.
