Anyone here in the Baltimore area?

I haven't been back since I moved in 2006, but I am thinking of taking the train down in early August to see my son and grandson. I think I will be staying in Charles Village, my old stomping grounds. (My son lives with his mother so I ain't going there.)

I know a lot has changed since I've been gone. It seems like the Inner Harbor is a dead zone now.

My daughter lives in Baltimore (Canton area). I'm sure she'd be fine with some random guy from an internet guitar forum stopping by. :)

Seriously though, I'm about an hour away. When will you be in town? Yes, it is a shame what happened with the Inner Harbor. It is indeed dead now, but apparently there are some revitalization plans in the works. Looks like it's going to be high rise condos/apartments with commercial space on the ground floor.

We use to go to the Inner Harbor a couple times a year before CalRipken Jr. retired. We’d splurge and get a nice hotel room, go to a game, spend a day there then drive back home. About 2 and a half hour drive.

My dad was from Baltimore. Went there more than a few times as a kid. Louisiana crab cakes are better. This is not helpful at all, but I do have fond memories of Camden Yard, fudge in the touristy harbor place, and a really cool old warship.

My dad was from Louisiana. He used to talk about eating crayfish in 1950s Baltimore and we thought he was nuts.

I am allergic to shellfish and selfish team owners so I can't speak to the quality of crabcakes and never set foot in Camden Yard.
