Are most of the songs you play for fun from the last century?

I don't really pay attention to when stuff comes out but I would guess that 99% of what I play is pre-2000. I did find my Radiohead Complete book yesterday so I will be playing a lot more post 2000 going forward.

Although nearly everything I play nowadays is my own garbage, the remainder is probably an equal mix of moldy oldies and new stuff. I'm only playing for myself, so the pressure to learn some dad rock song that I never was interested in enough to learn in the first place just isn't there anymore.

Thinking about, when playing actual songs, or playing along to songs, I suppose it's mostly 21st century stuff, but very traditional guitar playing really, and not that hard to play. Off the top of my head here's a bunch a songs I've enjoyed playing the various parts for:

That made me think about most of the stuff I learn these days. It’s not really dad rock I have no interest in, its more stuff I remember from my childhood that I never thought to learn on guitar. On Sunday, I went to this book/record store with my oldest. Firefall’s You Are The Woman, comes on over the pa and as soon as I got home, I got out the guitar and learned it. The amount of corny 70s soft rock I’ve learned over the past few years is insane.

I know it doesn't rhyme but,

You are the woman that I've always dreamed of
I knew it from the start, brain has to replace heart with lunch.
I saw your face and that's the last I've seen of my heart

every time I hear it my brain has to replace heart with lunch.
