Best brand for appliances?

Not sure if there is any difference in quality between US and Europe, but personally as a person in Scotland, I would recommend:

Hotpoint, whirlpool or AEG

I've got a NEFF gas hob and double oven. Oven is very nice, the hob is just a hob tbf. Also the fridge is a NEFF that came with the house, it's very good. One thing I would make sure is that if you get a gas hob to get a really powerful wok burner. Most tend to just be a standard 3.5kw, just shaped different. Although I don't know how high they can legally go in a residential setting

Hotpoint washer and tubledrier, both fine

zanussi freezer, has worked fine for 10 years now

What do you use your wok burner for? We do stir frys fairly often but apart from that I'm not really sure what I'd use it for and a lot of reviews I've read have had people saying they never use them. Christ the hob we have just now only has 2 working burners and the last time I used more than one was Christmas 2 years ago

I've got a mix-n-match thing going in my kitchen:
Kenmore fridge
Kenmore Elite dishwasher
Frigidaire microwave
GE Profile slide-in double oven/range

My only gripe is the microwave's beeper won't shut the fuck up until you open the door or press Stop.
Other that that, everything works fine.

well if you don't cook much i wouldn't bother :) I like to cook a lot so having more power is always handy. woks are pretty handy for steaming too

Bought a Samsung Washing Machine and a Samsung Fridge Freezer in the last few years. Happy with both.

Not happy with the White Knight Tumbler Dryer we bought to replace the previous excellent one from the same company. Old one was a simple beast with a couple of dials and gave sterling service for a decade. New one has gone all digital sensor bollocks and claims stuff is dry when it isn't and takes twice as long to dry anything as the old one.

Been reading up on the NEFF version of the Bosch hob I want (tempered black glass) and it's apparently a nightmare to keep clean so I may have saved myself a couple of hundred quid there by going ceramic :embarrassed:
