California Observations, and questions

I'm aware. I have a lot of family in the middle/ northern part of the state. In fact my uncle was once the mayor of Carmel.

Did he tell you to:

I haven't been to SanDiego yet to make a true assessment of "Southern California", but I do agree that San Francisco and north has more in common with Seattle than it does with LA.
I would say in years past, more toward my youth, that NorCal (not rural, talking in and around SanFrancisco and surrounds) was more Gucci. But that has changed and now Seattle matches up there, for better and worse.

San Diego isn’t quite as bad, unless you go to La Jolla.
isn't SAN DIEGO as a whole kinda uppity and right wing though? I have a cousinh who lives there and she's been there with her husband since probably 1989 and when they bought their mansion there was some claus that they were suppossed to keep the flagpole flying the flag. They bought the home from some retired navel officer or something.

Well, that's completely unenforceable. Not speaking to whether to fly the flag or not. Just unenforceable clauses in real estate sales contracts.

Oh I don’t doubt it but it none the less was one of those good faith things and I’m not sure that would happen in other cities…..at least back then. today, yes I wouldn’t doubt it

My girl is from California, grew up around Huntington Beach. She doesn’t wear makeup, is a jeans and T-shirt girl, artist, loves sun light, mornings and dusk.
Huntington Beach is 'Surf City USA'.
So Cal did steal that name from Santa Cruz.

It's a pretty even mix overall, but if you go to east county you'll find plenty of rednecks.
