I'm the same. I don't think I've intentionally hung out with anyone in the last 10 years either. It's not that I don't like folks but just something about trying to have a group experience maybe or perhaps it feels like a job but just something off putting . I'm perfectly sociable with people and talkative and all that but making plans and knowing I have to be somewhere at X in the day , etc It also probably has to do with the fact I have always been a pre dawn riser so by evening I've already been up like 5 hours longer than most folk.
I remember reading a book decades ago by John Nichols (he wrote The Milagro Bean Field war which was a movie among other books...most situated in N.M.) anyway in one of his non fiction books where he wrote about his early days living in TAOS, N.M. he wrote how he always enjoyed others company but he never sought it out on his own and when he did have to go to a get together or something he could never wait to get alone again, to go fly fishing or read a book in solitude, etc....that kinda sums me up a bit minus the fishing part of course and substitute MWGF for reading a book

so i was perusing the reddit and I saw someone mention "First Time camper...with the weather getting cooler I want to start camping and take it up as a hobby" I though WTF , really ;confused" post social media society never ceases to blow my mind. I mean how I came about camping....my folks took us a couple time and they weren't campers just more picnickers although my dad camped and hunted as a kid. then pops decided he wanted to start huntin' so me and my bro did too and of course camping ensued...then I realised in H.S if I went camping I could get super fucked up and wouldn't have to sneak into the house, I could just wake and bake all day and then I realised the outdoors was my church and I loved it...like a fish in water...

I didn't view Instagram ...I didn't watch #wvanlyfe or #national parks....#all that Gen Z /millinial appropriation bullshit #GLAMPING shite and suddenly decided "Oh camping can be an instagram lyfestyle' I must've been missing out all these years seeing these glamourous vanlyfers GLAMPING rather than seeing some dude with a dog wake up with a raging headache, shits behind a tree and eats tortilla chips and salsa for breakfast....what is it with this post social media society ?

So my advice since they asked was "bring weed, lotsa beer and maybe whiskey"
