Dickie's BBQ Pit

Chain BBQ restaurant, started in 1941 out of Texas. I've never been to one, but there are 2 locations near me. One in Kalamazoo, and one in Coldwater.

Are they any good? Texas BBQ, it has to be good, amirite?

They were pretty good, but the one that we had around for less than a decade recently closed...not that it speaks to anything.

I’ve eaten at few Dickie’s BBQ locations over the years. It can be ok depending how fresh the food is at the moment you order. Nothing to write home about.

The BBQ I’d recommend is Rudy’s BBQ. The one in Colorado Springs serves excellent food.

There's one near my old office location. Coworkers who hail from renowned BBQ regions (who's oppionions on 'que i generally agree with) all say, it's not terrible but its not particularly good. I've never had it so I can say otherwise.

They are loose-managed, owner-operator franchises. The quality of their food varies greatly from location to location. I have had some decent BBQ at Dickie’s (I’m a fan of the jalapeño-cheese sausage and smoked turkey), but also had a horrible BBQ.

I vaguely recall seeing the name Dickies at some point but don't think I've eaten there. Barbecue has gotten really bad across the board. Florida used to be this melting pot of style and now it's all cheap ass people wanting all you can eat ribs for $15 and the restaurants are catering to it.
