Did Dave Mustaine invent the spider chord ?

Spider thing, yes it’s a Dave creation. Fist time I saw him interviewed about it was in the 80’s..

Kirk was interviewed recently and mentioned how lead guitar parts, just not that memorable this the lead guitarist not that important. Seems that as his skills diminish what he does isn’t that important.

Robert Fripp, who's been taking "Sunday Lunch" with his wife Toyah Willcox on tour lately, singled out Dave Mustaine as one guitarist he's come to admire over the course of their project, saying:

"Going into 'Holy Wars… The Punishment Due', I could tell Dave Mustaine is a serious player. He thinks musically in a different way to me. But there are similarities, too. I can tell this from researching his playing: he seems to work in patterns – developing and introducing variations within those patterns, which I do myself."

He added:

"That Megadeth song was a challenge for me. Playing it properly would have taken me three months, with roughly four to eight hours a day woodshedding, as it's called. It would have taken a lot of focus. But if you're doing 90 seconds, you still need to work as hard as you possibly can. He's definitely someone I wasn't too familiar with prior, but ended up respecting greatly."

Any Megadeth song is a challenge for me. To listen to. Any possible musical enjoyment is ruined as soon as Dave opens his mouth
I have a theory that some people are incapable of listining to individuality...i.e uniqueness and that they need a status quo vocal...i.e 'textbook" "by the numbers" vocals. It's the same for any "weirdo" vocals...Bob dylan, Geddy lee, Mark e. Smith, etc, etc
dave certainly has a non conventional vocal. it works in the context of his music. His guitar playing taken as isolated by itself is phenomenal...the dude can flat out shred and ring. equal ease at lead and rhythm . i'm revisiting the first album which i hated back in the day when it came out and i think partly because the production. It sounded too trebly for lack of better ( more knowledgable production theory) especially compared in the day to say master of Puppets which was heavy and way more polished.

It's impressive that Mr. Fripp even says Dave's music is hard to replicate.

Nope. I listen to awide variety of vocalists who are unique. I just hate Dave's whiny, nasal voice so much, I can't even be bothered sitting through one song anymore.

And the music is just mid melodic thrash that is pretty outdated. yeah, blah blah Friedman, great shred, great rhythm yadda yadda. Even in their prime I wasn't really taken by Megadeth. Or Metallica for that matter.
