Do you have a signature sound??

So maybe I'll write like me and not influences at some point.
It is funny that a lot of the music sharing sites used to ask who you sound like. I could list my influences but sound nothing like them. I have a hard time even trying to sound like any of my influences.

Being able to write like your influences is good. Writing like yourself is harder as you need to figure out who you are. Luckily, I have had 72 years to figure that out.

Not sure f its a "signature" sound but I always come back to a strat into Fender, Marshall and Boogie amps. Maybe a Matchless/Vox from time to time.

Well no ones going to go, hey you ripped that off from the Black Crowes. But there's definitely a feel, vibe there.
Two bands that I think pull this off but retain their own "sound" are Dirty Honey and Rival Sons.

That's funny that you added Matchless and Vox. Those are two of the digital amps that I've been using the most the past few months.
I really like the Matchless 30. I have no idea if it's a Chieftain, HC or Clubman emulation. But I like it.

I think I sound like me no matter what gear I am playing through. It's more about phrasing and note choices than tone, though. Unless I'm doing an aggressive solo I don't really like a lot of treble in my sound, I am on the neck pickup for probably 80% of the time.

I think there is something to be said though for being able to pull up a wide number of styles and sounds vs. always sounding the same. I'm envious of those who can be musical chameleons like that on guitar. It's quite a skill...
