my learn-something-new for today is learning that southerners call beanies toboggans! (a toboggan is a kind of sled up here, was confused before doing some googling)

Yea sometimes I forget and regress to my Mom's 1960's North Alabama Scots-Irish speak. I was using the Kings English. Its really "boggin".
I learned as a kid from books that a toboggan was a type of sled. Id prob only seen one decent snow in my life at that point.

It's been over 30 years since I've owned a hoodie.
It's been a couple of decades since I've worn a sweater.
I go with long sleeve sport polyester mock turtle neck shirts(LSSPMTNS). I also have short sleeve & sleeveless of the same material for layering.

I wear a Jacket if it's colder. I have a nice black one, and a 35 year old beat up faded denim Levi jacket.

You people who don’t own sweatshirts with hoods….what do you wear? Levi’s jacket with cut off sleeves And a Celtic Frost iron on ? Kurt cobain cardigan? Flannel, members only jacket? Hugh Hefner smoking jacket ?

I have one, non-hooded sweatshirt. I mostly wear sport coats throughout the year, other than summer. I have a few sweaters that I wear, some pullover and some full zip. I really don't care for sweatshirts, don't wear sweatpants, and feel trapped by hoods. When it rains or snows I wear a hat.

For fall? A light weight jacket that's a generic version of a Carhart. Carpet backing is super abrasive and instantly shreds most material.

What I don't like about it- It has a hood. It's faux two layers. The inside "layer" looks like a sweatshirt and closes with a zipper. The outside "layer" closes with snaps. Wish it was the other way around. If you just zip up inside, it looks stupid. So, I just snap up the outside but, zipper would be way faster.

auto wrenching is super hard on cloths too, yer always snagging clothes on sharp metal objects especially if on older cars and you can't wear anything stiff because you need to contort your body around. A good heavy sweatshirt like Arborwear or the heavyweight Carhartt stands up to it. I get about three years out of one. I just bought a med. weight Dickies hoodie for the milder days for 29.95 so it's basically throw away. If it gets destroyed no biggie.

I have an equal number of both. Kinda depends on the weather and what I am doing. If it's cold and will stay cold, then pullover. If its chilly but I'm dressing in layers, then zipped.
