Got BOB put up again for Halloween….

Made a couple changes from last year… more cloak, more chain, new waterproofing for the bulb in the chest, and vines around the base.

The skull might look different from other 12 foot skeletons because the LED eyed burned out after a bad rainstorm, so I dremmeled out the eyes, nose, and a gap between the teeth. Then I put a big flickering flame LED bulb in the skull and another in the chest.

We have a corner lot up a hill on our road… and both of those roads loop around to one of the two exits to our neighborhood.

that said, there is a big pine tree that blocks that side of our driveway, so I feel for the people who are driving up the hill, glance left, and “what in the actual fuck is that?!?!?…”

There’s a house in my neighborhood with a nine foot tall, light up, inflatable dragon. It’s not scary but it is pretty cool.

We got a standard sized skeleton for free last year since it was missing a forearm. He remains comfortably numb, however.

@Tig ... I'm going to make some wire, posable, big scary hands for my 7 foot skeleton.

I'll take some pics so you can see how I do it..... basically I'm going to sketch a big hand, put a couple nails to stretch and twist some wire, then some cardboard "bones" taped to the wire, and then dry brush some paint.

With little gaps between the tape and cardboard "bones" the wire will bend so I can make some big scary CLAW hands.

It’s been pouring down rain all day long, so I was happy to see that the waterproof containers for the bulbs did their job and he’s just flickering away!

The motion sensors on our Ring doorbell are set to ignore cars on the street, but immediately alert when something comes up the drive (cars, pedestrians, deliveries)

Last night I get an alert and watch the video....

A car comes around the corner at the top of the hill.... passes the house but immediately brakes and turns into the end of the drive, headlights pointed at BOB.

Then the car slowly... starts to back up.... all.... the....way.... up... the hill..... pauses at the top of the curve.... and continues to back around the corner and away.
