Everything Denier

My cousin's family has an Alpen Hutte similar to this on on a mountain side in Austria.
I spent an unforgettable weekend there with them in October, 1977. We drove over from Germany up to a Gasthoff on the mountain, parked the car, and hiked another mile up the side of the mountain, lugging provisions (mostly beer in small barrels) on our backs.
It was no less than an intense two day boozer, with continuous singing and eating and card games throughout. They dragged me out in the morning to pick pfifferlinge, beautiful little golden mushrooms, which we ate sautéed in butter and scrambled with eggs.
One of the nights, I flipped out listening to a broadcast of the World Series on AAF radio, over a small transistor set. It was the game in which Reggie Jackson hit three homeruns! Good times.
