The wife and I had a really good conversation this weekend. We both found ourselves looking for her a few times but realized that it's a good thing.
She sat in a cage at a shelter for 8 months before we adopted her. She was a really great friend. I have found a sense of peace with the whole thing.
Thanks for all of the condolences and mojo. It's nice to have people to talk to. Locally, I have only my family. I don't hang out with work people and don't go anywhere to meet other people.
While we grieved this weekend we also felt relief as we had fallen into a routine of maintenance for an ailing family member and now that routine is gone and we can just remember what we had and smile.
